Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in October 2009 reached US$ 215.91 million or an increase of US$ 38.46 million (21.67 percent) compared to exports in September 2009. When compared with October 2008, it experienced an increase of US$ 27.90 million ( 14.84 percent) of US$ 188.01 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to October 2009 reached US$ 1,864.98 million or a decrease of 20.23 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

Almost all categories of goods experienced an increase in export value. The highest increase in exports occurred in the cocoa/chocolate goods category, which increased by US$ 9.45 million; coffee, tea, spices; and pulp/pulp which increased by US$ 6.44 million and US$ 6.08 million respectively. Meanwhile, the decline in exports in October 2009 only occurred in the rubber and rubber goods category, which fell by US$ 0.48 million.

The non-oil and gas import value of Lampung Province in October 2009 reached US$ 50.84 million or an increase of US$ 12.15 million (31.40 percent) compared to September 2009 which was recorded at US$ 38.69 million, while during January-October 2009 it reached US$ 404.11 million or a decrease of 32.45 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

The largest increase in imports occurred in the live animal goods category, which increased by US$ 16.29 million. Of the 10 main categories of imported goods, only three categories of goods experienced a decline. The biggest decline in imports in October 2009 occurred in mechanical machines/aircraft down US$ 12.73 million, followed by electrical machines/equipment down US$ 2.06 million, and fertilizer down US$ 0.39 million.
