Development of Exports and Imports in Lampung Province July 2009

The total export value of Lampung Province in July 2009 reached US$ 195.40 million or an increase of US$ 0.82 million (0.42 percent) compared to exports in June 2009, whereas compared to July 2008 it experienced a decrease of US$ 44.87 million (18, 68 percent) of US$ 240.27 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to July 2009 reached US$ 1,224.10 million or a decrease of 26.14 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

A fairly high increase in exports occurred in Paper/Pulp which increased by US$ 4.43 million and Fish and Shrimp increased by US$ 3.40 million. Meanwhile, the highest decline in exports in July 2009 occurred in coffee, tea and spices, which fell by US$ 9.50 million and cocoa/chocolate by US$ 4.12 million.

The non-oil and gas import value of Lampung Province in July 2009 reached US$ 32.81 million or an increase of US$ 0.42 million (1.31 percent) compared to June 2009 which was recorded at US$ 32.39 million, while during January-July 2009 it reached US$ 256.75 million or a decrease of 39.71 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

The increase in imports occurred in Wheat and Machinery/Aircraft Mechanics, which rose by US$ 1.74 million and US$ 1.21 million respectively. Meanwhile, the biggest decline in imports in July 2009 occurred in Live Animals, which fell by US$ 5.83 million.
