Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in September 2009 only reached US$ 177.46 million or decreased by US$ 70.05 million (-28.30 percent) compared to exports in August 2009, whereas compared to September 2008 it decreased by US$ 59.78 million ( -25.20 percent) of US$ 237.24 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to September 2009 reached US$ 1,649.06 million or a decrease of 23.30 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

A fairly high decline in exports occurred in Coffee, Tea, Spices which fell by US$ 23,756 million and Animal/Vegetable Fats & Oils which fell by US$ 19,317 million. Meanwhile, the highest increase in exports in September 2009 occurred in Paper Pulp, which rose by US$ 0.686 million, and Organic Chemicals, which rose by Cocoa/chocolate, US$ 0.486 million.

The non-oil and gas import value of Lampung Province in September 2009 reached US$ 38.69 million or decreased by US$ 19.15 million (33.11 percent) compared to August 2009 which was recorded at US$ 57.84 million, while during January-September 2009 it reached US$ 353.27 million or a decrease of 33.20 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

The largest increase in imports occurred in Electrical Machinery and Equipment, which increased by US$ 2.38 million. Meanwhile, the biggest decline in imports in September 2009 occurred in Live Animals, down US$ 14.97 million, followed by Wheat at US$ 1.23 million, and Food Industry Waste/Remains at US$ 1.17 million.
