The total export value of Lampung Province in November 2009 reached US$ 201.21 million or decreased by US$ 14.7 million (-6.81%) compared to exports in October 2009. When compared with November 2008, it experienced an increase of US$ 13.79 million (7.36%) of US$ 187.42 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to November 2009 reached US$ 2,066.19 million or decreased by 18.19% compared to the same period in 2008.
Six main categories of goods experienced a decline in export value in November 2009. The largest decline in exports occurred in the coffee, tea and spices categories, down US$ 23.37 million; cocoa/chocolate decreased by US$ 4.31 million; and pulp/pulp decreased by US$ 4.24 million. Meanwhile, four other main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value, with the highest increase being fish and shrimp, which increased by US$ 1.76 million.
The non-oil and gas import value of Lampung Province in November 2009 reached US$ 37.32 million or decreased by US$ 13.52 million (26.60%) compared to October 2009 which was recorded at US$ 50.84 million, while during January-November 2009 it reached US$ $441.42 million or a decrease of US$ 225.57 million (-33.82%) compared to the same period in 2008.
The biggest decline in imports occurred in the live animal goods category which fell by US$ 7.19 million and oil seeds fell by US$ 5.5 million. Of the 10 main categories of imported goods, six categories of goods experienced a decline and the other four experienced an increase. The increase in imports occurred in fertilizers up US$ 2.38 million, machinery/mechanical equipment up US$ 2.07 million, sugar and confectionery up US$ 0.22 million, and salt, sulfur and lime up US$ 0. 09 million.
