Development of Exports and Imports in Lampung Province August 2009

The total export value of Lampung Province in August 2009 reached US$ 247.50 million or experienced an increase of US$ 52.10 million (26.67 percent) compared to exports in July 2009, while compared to August 2008 it experienced a decrease of US$ 8.04 million (3, 15 percent) of US$ 255.55 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to August 2009 reached US$ 1,471.61 million or a decrease of 23.07 percent compared to the same period in 2008.

A fairly high decline in exports occurred in organic chemicals at US$ 1.167 million and rubber and rubber goods at US$ 0.87 million. Meanwhile, the highest increase in exports in August 2009 occurred in wood, wooden goods at US$ 1.146 million, animal/vegetable fats and oils at US$ 45.05 million, and cocoa/chocolate at US$ 0.717 million.

The non-oil and gas import value of Lampung Province in August 2009 reached US$ 57.84 million or an increase of US$ 25.02 million (76.26 percent) compared to July 2009 which was recorded at US$ 32.81 million, while during January-August 2009 it reached US$ 314.58 million or down 34.67 percent compared to the previous period
Same in 2008.

The decline in imports occurred in oilseeds worth US$ 0.642 million. Meanwhile, the largest increase in imports in August 2009 occurred in mechanical machines/aircraft, up US$ 11.99 million, followed by live animals at US$ 9.40 million, and fertilizer at US$ 2.14 million.
