Abstract

Lampung Province's NTP in December 2011 for each subsector was recorded at 133.63 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 110.89 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 124.50 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 105.18 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 114.68 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 123.74.

The increase in prices in the food crop sub-sector, such as the price of grain and cassava, caused Lampung's NTP to increase by 0.40 percent and was driven by the increase in the price of vegetables, especially the price of red chilies.

If the NTP per subsector in December 2011 is compared with November 2011, it can be seen that three NTP subsectors experienced an increase, namely the food crops subsector which rose 0.87 percent, the horticultural crops subsector rose 0.55 percent, the fisheries subsector rose 0.19 percent. Meanwhile, sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector which fell 0.50 percent and the livestock sub-sector fell 0.57 percent.

Of the 32 provinces, 19 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 13 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province, namely 0.77 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers fell by 0.15 percent while the price received by farmers rose by 0.62 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in Maluku Province, which fell by 0.54 percent, because the price paid by farmers increased by 0.27 percent while the price received by farmers actually fell by 0.26 percent.

In December 2011, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 0.34 percent. Inflation in rural areas was mainly caused by an increase in the price index for the food and clothing group, as well as an increase in the index for other groups except for the education, recreation and sports group which did not experience changes.
