The increase in production occurred due to an increase in harvested area of ​​61.40 thousand hectares (12.12 percent) and productivity of 0.42 quintals/hectare (0.91 percent).

Forecast Figure III (ARAM III) for corn production in 2009 is estimated at 2.04 million dry shelled tons. Compared to production in 2008, there was an increase of 229 thousand tons (12.64 percent). The increase in production is estimated to occur due to an increase in harvested area of ​​37.37 thousand hectares (9.64 percent) and productivity of 1.28 quintals/hectare (2.74 percent).

Prediction Number III (ARAM III) for soybean production in 2009 is estimated at 16.16 thousand tons of dry beans. Compared to production in 2008, there was an increase of 9.49 thousand tons (142.06 percent). The increase in production in 2009 is estimated to occur due to an increase in harvested area of ​​7.80 thousand hectares (137.91 percent) and productivity of 0.21 quintal/hectare (1.78 percent).
