The NTP for Lampung Province in June 2009 for each subsector was recorded at 113.68 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 95.77 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 102.89 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 106.14 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 117.03 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 107.84, which decreased by 1.07 percent compared to the previous month, namely 109.01.
The decrease in NTP of 1.07 percent occurred due to a high decline in the index received by farmers of 0.23 percent, while the index paid by farmers increased by 0.85 percent. The commodities that triggered the decline in the index received by Lampung Province farmers in June 2009 were in particular the decline in commodity prices for corn, peanuts, coffee and pepper.
If the NTP per subsector in June 2009 is compared with May 2009, it can be seen that four of the five NTP subsectors have decreased, namely the rice and secondary crops subsector (1.45%), smallholder plantation crops (2.69%), livestock (0.52 %), and fisheries (0.02%). Meanwhile, another subsector, namely the horticulture subsector, experienced an increase of 1.17 percent.
Of the 32 provinces reported in June 2009, 20 provinces experienced an increase in the index, 11 provinces experienced a decrease in the index, and 1 province experienced no change in the index. The highest increase in NTP in June 2009 occurred in South Sulawesi, namely 1.49 percent, due to the increase in prices received by farmers in the five existing subsectors. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in West Sumatra, namely a decrease of 1.29 percent, due to the decline in prices received by farmers in four subsectors, namely rice & secondary crops, horticulture, smallholder plantation crops, and fisheries.
In June 2009, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 1.03 percent due to the increase in the price index in six expenditure groups, namely: foodstuffs (1.29%), prepared food (0.38%), housing (1.43 %), clothing (0.30%), health (0.19%), and education, recreation and sports (2.05%). Meanwhile, another group did not experience a change in the index, namely the transportation and sports group.
