Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in April 2012 reached US$234.7 million or decreased by US$38.3 million (14.03%) compared to exports in March 2012 which were recorded at US$273 million. Exports in April 2012, when compared with April 2011, decreased by US$ 151.3 million (39.20%) from US$ 386 million.

The five main categories of goods that experienced a decline in export value were animal/vegetable fats & oils US$59.9 million; processed fruit/vegetables US$2.7 million; processed meat and fish US$2.7 million; pulp/pulp US$1.9 million; and organic chemicals US$0.7 million. Five other main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value in April 2012, namely rubber and rubber goods, US$5.2 million; coffee, tea, spices valued at US$5.0 million; fish and shrimp US$2.3 million; and food industry dregs/waste US$1.3 million; and various chemical products US$1.2 million.

The largest contribution to export value in April 2012 occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; fish and shrimp; and pulp/pulp, each contributing 29.78%; 10.95%; 7.28%; and 6.74% of total April 2012 exports from Lampung Province. The role of these four groups reached 54.76% of the total export value in the same period.

The main export destination country in April 2012 was China which reached US$39.8 million, followed by Italy, the United States and Japan with US$35.2 million, US$25.6 million and US$24.7 million respectively. The role of the four reached 53.41% of total exports that month.
