The total export value of Lampung Province in April 2010 reached US$ 148.82 million or decreased by US$ 10.42 million (-6.54%) compared to exports in March 2010. When compared to April 2009, it increased by US$ 1.76 million (1.20%) from US$ 147.06 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province from January to April 2010 reached US$ 618.56 million or increased by 2.98% compared to the same period in 2009.
Five main commodity groups experienced a decrease in export value in April 2010. The largest export decline occurred in the cocoa/chocolate goods category, down by US$ 9.95 million, pulp down by US$ 2.17 million, and fish and shrimp down by US$ 1.93 million. Meanwhile, five other main commodity groups experienced an increase in export value, the highest being the animal/vegetable fats & oils category which increased by US$ 10.18 million.
The value of non-oil and gas imports in Lampung Province in April 2010 reached US$ 41.82 million or decreased by US$ 12.63 million (-23.20%) compared to March 2010 which was recorded at US$ 54.46 million. The import value for the January-April 2010 period reached US$ 194.73 million or decreased by US$ 264.67 million (-57.61%) compared to the same period in 2009.
The largest decrease in imports occurred in the live animal goods category which decreased by US$ 7.84 million, sugar and confectionery decreased by US$ 4.36 million, and fertilizer decreased by US$ 3.82 million. Of the 10 main import categories, 5 categories experienced a decline and 5 categories experienced an increase, namely imports of mechanical machines/aircraft which experienced the largest increase, up by US$ 3 million. While for wheat in 2010 we only imported in April, amounting to US$ 2.17 million.
