Abstract

Lampung Province NTP in May 2010 for each subsector was recorded at 121.07 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 102.75 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 109.31 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr), 106.36 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 115.25 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 113.70, which increased by 0.84 percent compared to the previous month (April 2010), which was 112.75.

The increase in NTP by 0.84 percent occurred mainly due to the increase in the prices of various agricultural commodities in the rice and secondary crops subsector after the main harvest ended as well as the prices of horticulture subsector commodities.

The average price of paddy at the farmer level in May 2010 was Rp 2,575.69/kg which was below the Government Purchase Price (HPP) of Rp 2,640.00/kg at the farmer level, and experienced a decrease of 2.99 percent compared to April 2010 which reached Rp 2,655.00/kg. Meanwhile, the average price of paddy at the milling level was Rp 2,658.57/kg with an HPP of Rp 2,685.00/kg, or a decrease of 2.60 percent compared to April which was Rp 2,729.53/kg.
