In preparing economic development plans, information about economic developments in a relatively short period of time is often needed. The information in question can be obtained through a study of quarterly GRDP data and indicators. In addition to planning, quarterly GRDP can also be used to prepare econometric models to observe short-term or seasonal economic fluctuations.
In the fourth quarter of 2009, Lampung's economy grew negatively by 9.60 percent from the previous quarter (q to q). Compared to the same quarter in 2008 (y on y), Lampung's economy grew by 3.97 percent. Cumulatively (c to c), Lampung's economic growth up to the fourth quarter of 2009 or in 2009 grew by 5.07 percent.
Lampung's economic structure in the fourth quarter of 2009 compared to the previous quarter experienced changes in composition and shifts in order. The agricultural sector is still the sector that provides the largest contribution (33.50 percent), followed by the manufacturing industry and trade/hotel/restaurant sectors at 16.24 and 14.39 percent respectively.
In terms of expenditure, the negative growth in the fourth quarter of 2009 of 9.60 percent (q to q) was mainly due to a decrease in the Net Export component of 15.35 percent. On a “y on y” basis, the components that experienced significant growth were Net Export and Household Consumption. Meanwhile, on a “c to c” basis or in 2009, the components that experienced significant growth were Non-Profit Private Institution Consumption, Household Consumption and PMTB.
The structure of PDRB according to expenditure in the fourth quarter of 2009 was dominated by the components of Household Consumption (60.81 percent), PMTB (20.07 percent), and Government Consumption (18.27 percent). Likewise in 2009, the Lampung economy was also dominated by these three components.
