Abstract

The number of labor force based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2023 was 4,904.90 thousand people, an increase of 308.97 thousand people compared to
August 2022. Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) fell by 0.02 percentage points.
The working population was 4,697.66 thousand people, an increase of 309.69 thousand people from August 2022. The employment opportunities that experienced the largest increase were Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at 73.84 thousand people.
A total of 1,378.02 thousand people (29.33 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 0.85 percentage points compared to August 2022.
The percentage of underemployed increased by 1.59 percentage points, while part-time workers decreased by 1.06 percentage points compared to August 2022.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was 4.23 percent, down by 0.30 percentage points compared to August 2022.
