Abstract

April 2020, Bandar Lampung City experienced a deflation of 0.16 percent due to a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 105.25 in March 2020 to 105.08 in April 2020. From eleven expenditure groups in Bandar Lampung City, two groups experienced inflation (increase in index), namely the group of equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.25 percent; and the personal care and other services group 0.30 percent. In contrast, four expenditure groups experienced deflation (decreasing index), namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.16 percent; health group 0.10 percent; transportation group 0.42 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group 1.96 percent. Meanwhile, the clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups; recreational, sports and cultural groups; education group; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience an increase or decrease in the index.

Dominant commodities that contributed to the formation of deflation in April 2020 include: red chili 0.21 percent; air transportation 0.12 percent; mobile credit charges 0.09 percent; pedigree chicken meat 0.06 percent; cayenne pepper 0.05 percent; rice 0.05 percent; mackerel / bloating 0.04 percent; garlic 0.03 percent; purebred chicken eggs 0.02 percent; and 0.01 percent biscuits.
