Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in December 2010 reached US$283.70 million or an increase of US$10.74 million (3.94%) compared to exports in November 2010. When compared with December 2009, it was also US$59.91 million higher (26, 77%) of US$223.80 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province throughout 2010 reached US$2.49 billion or an increase of 10.36% compared to the same period in 2009.

Six main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value in December 2010. The highest increase in exports occurred in the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils, increasing by US$8.72 million; rubber and rubber goods increased by US$7.59 million; cocoa/chocolate rose by US$3.94 million and so on. The lowest position of the four other main categories of goods that experienced a decline in export value was coffee, tea, spices which fell by US$12.70 million.

The import value of Lampung Province in December 2010 reached US$284.10 million or an increase of US$19.74 million (7.47%) compared to November 2010 which was recorded at US$264.35 million. The import value for the period throughout 2010 reached US$1.94 billion or an increase of US$569.60 million (41.59%) compared to the same period in 2009.

The largest increase in imports occurred in oil and gas, which rose by US$70.87 million or 47.73%. Almost all of the import values of the 10 main categories of goods decreased except for oily grains, which increased by US$3.45 million or 146.68%, but in terms of role it only accounted for 2.57% of total imports.
