The total export value of Lampung Province in February 2010 reached US$ 167.48 million or increased by US$ 24.46 million (17.10%) compared to exports in January 2010. When compared to February 2009, it increased by US$ 4.01 million (2.45%) from US$ 163.47 million. Cumulatively, the export value of Lampung Province in January-February 2010 reached US$ 310.49 million or increased by 0.08% compared to the same period in 2009.
Eight main commodity groups experienced an increase in export value in February 2010. The largest increase in exports occurred in the animal/vegetable fats & oils category, increasing by US$ 21.44 million and cocoa/chocolate, increasing by US$ 4.23 million. Meanwhile, two other main commodity categories experienced a decline in export value, namely the fruit/vegetable processed goods category which fell by US$ 1.01 million and pulp/paper which fell by US$ 0.13 million.
The value of non-oil and gas imports in Lampung Province in February 2010 reached US$ 39.79 million or fell by US$ 18.88 million (-32.18%) compared to January 2010 which was recorded at US$ 58.67 million. The import value for the January-February 2010 period reached US$ 98.46 million or fell by US$ 179.06 million (-64.52%) compared to the same period in 2009.
The largest import decline occurred in the live animal goods category which fell by US$ 11.21 million, fertilizer fell by US$ 4.44 million, and oilseeds fell by US$ 2.96 million. Of the 10 main import categories, seven categories experienced a decrease and 2 categories experienced an increase, namely imports of mechanical machines/aircraft which increased by US$ 3.81 million and salt, sulfur, and lime increased by US$ 72.3 thousand. Meanwhile, for sugar and confectionery from January and February 2010 we did not import from abroad.
